The range of essential oils grows and grows and it's a delightful process mixing some of these oils with a good quality Carrier Oil or Base Oil as some call it and use that for a massage.

A lot of websites say that one can add 10ml of an oil to the bath water and have a nice, relaxing bath. I have found however that by doing this the oil seems to float at the surface and leaves this oily residue on the body.

I would recommend when wanting to have an oil bath, to mix the oil with a little milk - mix it well and then pour that below the running tap.
Doing it this way will disperse the oil a lot better.

It's easier to have them all together like that and it looks good.

The main reason for storing them like this is because the wooden box keeps the bright, warm daylight out. The darker the bottles used and then stored inside a wooden box, the longer the oils keep their qualities.


I always buy Base Oil in bulk which works out so much cheaper. There is variety of base oils on the market these days and any good Cold Pressed Massage Oil will do the job.

Base or Carrier oils are cold pressed from vegetables, nuts or seeds. Because of their purity they contain many nutrients to nourish the skin.

Not only will these oils make the perfect base to create your own aromatherapy massage oils, they are also a great base to make your own skin care. The carrier oil  assists in the absorption of essential oil into the body.

Only mix small amounts of essential oils at a time, and use them quickly. You only need about 5 to 6 drops of essential oil to 10mls of carrier massage oil.

Add oils to water in a candle oil burner.

Now depending on the mood one's in or what season it is, one can make all sorts of blends.
