I spent most of the day trying to fix Roomie's Vista laptop. It was crashing & freezing a lot. I think I may have got it but will have to wait for him to use it as usuall to be fully sure. Basically I just flushed the DNS, ran diagnostics which came up fine, changed setting for Windows Update now that Vista is no longer supported and shut down Security Essentials. We still need to find an AntiVirus that still supports Vista. Good luck with that.  Anyway , Firewall is still working....i think....maybe LOL. If it blows up, no biggy, he has a W7 lappy to fall back on

Hi Brad and good to hear no one got hurt as I was thinking of you down there. It sure got crazy up here so I can only imagine what the storm was doing there.

Wow Elaine you sure have been busy! I know all about fixing computers in the same way you have been doing. Go and check out AVG anti virus as they are brilliant and they have a free version which I have used for many many years.
I just found their link so here it is ....

https://www.avg.com/en-ww/free-antivirus-download

I just updated a few movies that I have seen in the movie section. Now I think I might just sit down with some lunch and watch another movie Smile

I'm planning a very lazy weekend catching up on a show I enjoy. Six parts to watch so I'm going to be binging. Rare I do that but I want to watch it before I go away while it's still available on iPlayer.

The rain is taking a break. Yay! No builders working today either so it's lovely and quiet too.

Our heatwave arrived  for Wed, Thursday and Friday , and I do not like it one bit , 30c=87F  is just to much for me ,  Today it is a bit better  but still hot and humid  . I felt heavy and sluggish

and to top it all off my Internet went down completely , nothing worked , took almost 2 days to get it back up and running . A long long story , as to what happened , but I think it was my server who was mad at me for cancelling my phone line . They told me a horror story trying to stop me from cancelling  Rolling Eyes and I said no , cancel pls .  I am using IT , much much much cheaper , but there you go , Internet now needed for my phone , and promptly was down for almost 2 days . What would you think ?   No one else 's Internet was down !! Thank God for my cell phone .lol

Long weekend here, not doing anything special  , can't take the crowds or the heat

Have great weekend everyone .

Did homework today so going to take off for the night from the computer. Take care of myself. We have a lot of smoke/smog here and my asthma acts up. I have been inside up until today to day mail and now I think I will stay away. But I need to go grocery shopping. I will do it in the morning when I get up. I will see.

Anyway have a great night all!

I did enjoy the show Martha. It was an Aussie one. I watched the first series ages ago and have been waiting for the second. It was very thought provoking. A series called Cleverman. Sci-fi but with enough similarities to current real life to be uncomfortable in places.

Another lazy day for me today I hope and then back to the grindstone on manic Monday. I could really get used to being a weekend slob.

Morning all.....I am tired today.....was a very busy weekend.....it was Dick's 50th Class Reunion.....Friday night there was an informal gathering at our local bar.....Three Pines.....then Saturday night was the dinner.....very nicely done.....had a good turnout too! Sunday morning was brunch then toured the Jeep show at the beach.....then some of his classmates from out of state wanted a tour of the shop so we did that.......I am beat! LOL Was good to see everyone......it's a small town so  everybody knows everybody from all the different classes.

Today have to pay bills at the shop and I think that's all that's on the agenda.....good thing! LOL

Am off for more coffee....enjoy your day.

Weather is still warm , going up to 25c it says , got all the fans running , it helps  , smoggy sky has not changed .... fires still burning , rain in forecast for 17th and 18th , lets hope it arrives , things are not good in BC as far as the fires are concerned .

I got all geared up for the street market in the village yesterday, and turns out it's not going on till this coming Wednesday ... shucks

Elaine : Anthony Hopkins usually plays in pretty gory movies if I remember correctly , was this one gory ?  I am half way through a series ... now don't laugh ..... *Stair way to heaven *, starring Micheal Landon ,   getting bored now , will go to something a bit more realistic ... lol .

Whisper:  enjoy your lazy weekend ... does you good .

Becky:   have a great day away from the computer .

Martha:   Yes ... living in Australia you would think that 30c sounds just lovely , for here , that is hot hot hot , my body is accustomed to lower temps , and when it climbs like that it kicks up a fuss... lol . My son visited Australia , and when getting back , he told me he felt sick the whole time , ... 40 c   OMG  ..

Rby:  Sounds like you had fun this weekend , wow ,   have a good rest now .

I am off to find the wizard ....

Wendy I have not watched that tv show but have heard it's good and you saying you like it to I might just have to see if I can watch it from the beginning.

Beckea hope you had some nice time away from the computer.

Sounds like you had a lovely time Rby Smile

Oh yes 40C is hot, even here Geru but it also depends what part of Australia your son was in. If he was in Sydney or surrounding areas then yes 40C would have been a killer.
Here in Western Australia we mostly have a dry heat in summer which makes it more bareble you see.

I'm spending so much time with legal stuff at the moment; helping out Catherine & Jeremy with dual citizenship stuff ... sigh.

Good luck with the legal stuff. I hate all that paperwork and red tape.

I think you'd enjoy the show. Two series with 6 parts in each. Well worth a watch if you can get it.

Sounds like a great weekend. rby.

Fingers crossed for that rain GERU.

Done a bit of housework and been to do some local shopping. Visiting my brother later but that's about it for today.

We were hit with a full front of hail, cyclonic winds and rain, there were reports of damage and sheds and trampolines and anything else not tied down being flung through th air, houses damaged and roofs damaged, it has cleared up today, but there are more dark clouds coming

We've finally got a dry day with sunny spells and a gentle breeze. It was chilly overnight though. More like Autumn than Summer. It sounds like we've got the best weather for once though. No extremes of heat or cold and wind.

Nothing interesting happening. Boring chores and playing online while I run some scans. Visitors at the weekend so I'm enjoying the peace and quiet while I can.

Hi all! Sunny day so far......no breeze today so the a/c is on and the house is comfy. Simon is happy! LOL

Ran a couple of errands yesterday for the shop then got both lawns mowed. Today it's off to DMV to register customer trailers then back here for the usual house stuff. Thinking we might cook out tonight......haven't decided yet.

Am off to get busy.....enjoy your day.

Sunny and smoggy here , but it has cooled a bit , so that make it easier .

Nothing much new here , went to street marked yesterday, came home with some light sour dough rye bread , some corn on the cob,  and bought a lavender sachet bag for my closet .

The smells of the food drove me half crazy ... lol, but ... did not buy any,   line up a mile long  .

Music was good , they had a piano player, a male singer , and two guitar players  . There was  one booth with bongo drummers , and black girls dancing to the beat , really good , they were  Students from the University here  in the City  . Forgot my camera of course .

today I am going to drop in  my club for tea , see whats cooking  and see who is there .

Hello Elaine , enjoy the bit of  a cool down today  . Brad, glad you are OK, sounds like a bad storm that hit you .

Hello to Martha, Whisper , RBy, Joy

It has been a terrible few days weather wise indeed Mozzie and I had to sandbag my front door to stop the water from flooding in!

These are a few images from channel 7 news from north of Perth where it was bad.

Even the parks got flooded

And this photo, taken south of Perth shows even more the amount of rain we've had.

I've been busy helping this family getting their house dry again and the skip-bin is now full with water drenched carpet .. sigh. Back today to do some cleaning for them.
Cooked a few meals for them this week to help a little and had the younger 2 girls staying a night.

Hoping to catch up with other boards over the weekend Smile

I got some housework done even though it is so hot and smokey here. Didn't do the vacuuming or wash the kitchen floor though. it all looked so daunting  today;)
Got this cool shot of a handsome fella who was kind enough to wait for a portrait shot though ♥
