Morning all.....was a busy weekend.......guys had a good time at the car show......while they were gone on Sat. I mowed both lawns and went to my neighbor's house to let out her dog Jake. He normally stays here but Jake doesn't like cats and goes after them and that wasn't going to work.....can't have Simon traumatized.
On Sunday we took the guys to one of our local winery......they did some wine tasting (they even gave them a wine glass to take home......had lunch there then visited a craft beer brewery in our area......another cute place.
Simon was the perfect little host this weekend......he loves people and was totally fascinated with the Boston accents! LOL Today he is exhausted.......being so social just wore him out. LOL
Am off to get things back in order.....enjoy your day.

Stopped in to say hello - have a great week and hopefully less heat for me. I need to spend some time weeding without frying outside.

Just lovely here yesterday and today. Warm and sunny without being too hot and humid.

Sounds like everyone had a great weekend rby. Did they buy something to put in those glasses too?

I'm half expecting my granddaughter to visit today but she hasn't confirmed yet so it's wait and see.

Congrats on the signing Sandy. Whoohoo!

@rbyslprs My dog Louie is a real bugger with anything else that has four legs. Not that he would hurth them but he kicks up a hell of a racket which makes them go for him and then he would retaliate. It's a shame because it means he can never be let off the lead in case he starts trouble.

Yup Martha it is exciting. It's all go from now on to get all organised. Can't wait. We must have a Skype as soon as I am in and you are available. Only 11 days to go now.

Today I am free but Wed, Thur and Fri I have to go over to the flat and let workmen and deliveries in.

I do hope this nice weather we are having holds up, but it does look like we are actually getting a summer this year.

Hello everyone. The heat is bad here in the outh and always in the 90s with storms at some point. I have had to start doing my laundry early am so I can unplug my washing machine or the lightning will knock it back out. Hope everyone is staying warm or cool depending on where ya live. Have a wonderful day.

I'm sure they'll find something else to tax still Martha. Unbelievable.

Warm but cloudy this morning. It's humid and thunderstorms are rumbling around so I'm expecting a downpour soon.

GD didn't come yesterday in the end. Probably coming next week instead. Turned out for the best since I wasn't here much after mum had a fall.

That present never arrived so I contacted the seller. Very apologetic and gave a semi-believable explanation. He didn't have another one but offered a refund or a replacement item. Whichever I wanted included his selection of ones that are listed at twice the price. I chose one that was only a couple of pounds dearer than the original in the end. He's posting it first class today so it better arrive quickly.

Talking of critters, I've got my neighbours' guinea pig for the next ten days while they go away. They had two but sadly one died last month so I'm hoping this one doesn't while it's here. My cat has never seen one. She's not chasing it so far but she is watching it very intently. If she starts pestering it I'll have to move it into the spare bedroom and shut the door but as long as she only looks I'm fine with that.

Oh heck.. Guinea Pigs hate being alone.  They need company.  Poor little mite losing his friend.  You really need to keep it in a room where it can see and hear people or it will pine something awful.  I had to look after two of the buggers for 2 weeks once.  I kept them in a corner of the living room.  But then my dog at the time, Bayley, was wonderful with other animals.

I also had a problem this week with a diary I ordered on line.  I ordered an appointments diary and they sent me a normal week to a view diary.  Give them their due though, they answered my email on the next working day and said they are sending the correct one out directly.  They don't even want me to return the one they sent by mistake.

That's good. So they should though it's their mistake.

I'm surprised this guinea pig seems to be doing fine since the other one died. I know how they love company. Maybe it didn't like her much. lol So far it's eating fine and looks healthy. It's a stroppy mare though. I don't think it's been handled much. Belongs to one of their sons and I think the novelty wore off so I'm going to be doing some taming I think. I used to have loads of them. Loved all the noises they made. At one point I had a dozen rabbits and twenty guinea pigs. I had three dogs at the time and they were all great with the critters. One of my collies used to herd any stragglers back to their hutches at bedtime. She was very efficient without ever touching one.

Well, it has been an interesting few days here, been having to run around to and from Freo and here and there and everywhere in storms, we have severe weather warnings in place here, Clouds are black, sky is a mess, rain hail nearly, no lightning yet, but the winds are incredible.

Doing some paperwork for the shop today plus house stuff and laundry......nothing all that exciting! LOL

Good Morning!
I'm puttering around the house today, nothing else. Laundry, tidying up, maybe bake something if the temps stay low-ish. It actually rained for a few minutes today!!

Believe it or not , we actually got a sprinkle in the early morning hrs here, not enough to put in your hat, but better then nothing . Humidity is going up , but all in all , not a bad day here.

Highway #1 Trans Canada , is closed in the Ashcroft BC region , and so is #97 , do to the wildfire burning out of control  Some folks in Kamloops are able to return home to messy red fire retardant chemical spray  over everything,( it washes off ) but at least no one was killed and most of the homes were saved from what I have read .

have a great day everyone .

Oh no I hope your mum is ok Wendy and no broken bones!

Sandy was that a diary you could download? Good of them to reply so quickly.

Brad it was mayhem here with that weather and I had to drive in it and the idiots on the road made me want to kill a few! We've had hail, thunderstorms and 100km an hr wind gusts!
I just unplugged my electricals and read my book during this bad weather as I wasn't going to risk it.

Sounds like most of you have had rain and/or storms.

Oh gheez are those fires still going Geru? Good to hear no fatalities though.

Talk about teaching one's granny to suck eggs, lol. Sorry about that Wendy. Yup, that little chatter of theirs is lovely. Jessie's GPs, one in particular, as soon as it heard my voice as I visited they would rush to the front of their cage for some fuss from me. And when they heard Jess chopping up their food they used to set up such a racket.

I actually hate the buggers along with my dislike of rabbits. I see absolutely no point in them. But I can see their attraction for some people. The chap downstairs here has loads of them and every day he takes them out in the garden in their outdoor pens, weather permitting. They seem to be his life when he isn't at work.

No regarding it being a download Martha. It was/is a genuine hardback A5 diary.

Weather here is very strange at the moment. One minute sun, then dull with showers and so on, but not cold.

Off to the flat again in a tick to have the cooker all wired in.

It's fine Sandy. You weren't to know I used to have a menagerie. I didn't mention the seven rats and various hamsters too. lol I love guinea pigs. Funny isn't it? Yeah mine used to create a real racket at the mere sound of food and purred like cats when stroked. So far I haven't heard a single sound from this one. Not sure whether that's normal for her or whether it's because she's on her own now or just a strange place. She's very good at head butting to let you know she doesn't like being handled though. lol I bought her a few treats when I went shopping this morning so maybe we can make friends later.

A cracked rib or two Martha but she's doing OK thanks.

Rainy and windy here today but nothing like as bad as a lot of areas have been getting. The storms went just west of here so we only got the dregs.

The only animals of that ilk I like are rats. But once again they also like company so it's not a case of having just the one. So I'm gonna stick with my Louie I think, lol.

No more going back to the flat and waiting until next Thursday when the carpet is laid. I have to double check with them on Monday to confirm times. I can't for the life of me remember if I booked a morning slot or an afternoon one.
