Good morning. Just popping in before I get stuck into some housework. Nothing exciting to tell. Having your hair done always seems to make you feel better Sandy so it's probably worth making the effort if you can stand it.

Well, I'm supposed to be going out on the 26th for my first dining out since February 18th last year.

Martyn (Sarah's fella) is a chef at the resturant and they are reopening on that night after a new change around of a whole new menu.  Friends and family have all been invited for a completely free meal - drinks only to be paid for.  It also happens to be Martyn's birthday on that day.  Although he will be working and cooking for us all.

So I suppose I should try and make it to the hair dressers as it looks a total mess at the moment.

Good morning friends!
Yesterday was great. The very first place that I had found to check out is the one we want. Now we have to go thru the application/vetting process until we are accepted and then we wait for a place to become available. I hope it happens soon!
I've got lots of housework to get done today and it's already nearly 10am. affraid  Gotta get started!
Have a wonderful day/evening

Sandy you can do it and make it to that lovely dinner! Smile

I managed to get some housework done in between sorting out this mess of bookmarks on my computer. My neighbour kept coming over for a chat but I told her to leave as I needed to concentrate lol. She's lovely but oh so bored and wants the company I know. I've never been bored ... if anything I always have so much that I want to  ... even relaxing with a movie or book.

Elaine that sounds promising so fingers crossed you get that place! sunny Are you on a time restraint to move?

Sounds like something lovely to aim for Sandy. A pity Martyn has to do the cooking on his birthday though.

Good luck Elaine. Fingers crossed something becomes available fairly quickly.

I never get bored either Martha. Not enough hours in a day for me.

I got a weird thingy when I opened the board btw. It was asking for a username and password for zigzag something or other. I should have paid more attention but I just cancelled it and the board opened fine.

Oh I wonder what that was then Wendy. There should not be any advertising as I paid for it not to show!

That happened to me last night Wendy.  I was on my ipad and therefore was actually logged out of this board as I haven't visited it on my ipad before last night.  So I did put my name and password in the box thinking it was the log in for here.

But after 2 tries and it telling me that it was the wrong password I then saw it was for something else, so I deleted it and log in from the top of the board.

What I think happened was that Martha you have this board set to show the ads to guests and as I was logged out I was a guest.  I think my curser ran over the advert accidentally and it caused a pop up log in for that, whatever it was.  No harm done though.

Fingers crossed for you to get that place really soon Elaine.

I made a mistake.  It's not "dinner" we are going out for but "Lunch" although the menu will be the same as the dinner menu.  Also Martyn is only in the kitchen with 6 other chefs for the afternoon.  He has his birthday evening off so he and Sarah will be going out for that.

I never actually get bored either.  I do get lonely for company sometimes, but never bored.

Hmm I don't think there is a setting for ads for guests though. Ones you pay for it to be removed or not show it should be for everyone. I could be wrong though so must look into that.

I stand corrected Sandy. Yes there is a setting for that and I paid for members to not see adds for 6 months. If I had chosen guests as well it would have cost more, so I figured I go for members first as they have made the effort to sign up Smile

Hi Everyone Smile

I dunno what is wrong with me that I have not posted for a few days. No excuse at all. I'm not sick or anything, lol. I just noticed the other day when Martha skyped me to chat lol. Probably I am getting alzheimers or so.

It will be nice when Jurgy can walk the dogs again in the morning. Then I might  have more time to notice what I have forgotten to do, hahaha.  You all were talking about fireworks and the dogs a few days back. All of mine have been afraid of them except Veleta. She was fearless. The only time I ever saw her look afraid was once when she tried to jump across a pond to a stepping stone and missed. She was not a fan of swimming, lol. But on Sylvester (New Year's Eve), our city lights up with Fireworks. Everyone is allowed to shoot them and they are all over. I usually stand out on the terrace and watch them. Veleta would always go out there with me and jump up on the table and watch them too. The other dogs hide. Poor things!

lol Not scared of fireworks but not keen on a bit of water.

That could have been it Sandy. I usually have it set to log in automatically but I had been clearing cookies and generally tidying up my cache, history etc. so I may have been logged out. I didn't see any mention of ads but I wasn't paying much attention really.

Apart from a few chores I'm hoping for a lazy day today. That may or may not happen depending on mum but fingers crossed I'll get at least some time to chill out.

I remember my Katie when she was just a few months old. We all went for a walk in a massive park/forest one bitterly cold snowy winters day and there was a huge pond. Almost a lake you could say. There were some ducks huddled together on the side of the bank and as we got nearer to them they fluttered away and into the water. It was the first time Katie had seen ducks and as they started to moved she fixed on one and chased it. Of course before she got anywhere near it, it was up in the air and flying to land on the water. Katie took one huge leap trying to catch it in the air and she also landed with the duck in the water. She had no idea it was water.

She was horrified. She quickly turned back and got out and by that time I was there to pick her up. She was so cold that we wrapped her in a thick scarf and got back to the car to turn the heater on and dry her out. As we were wrapping her up all of her little legs were cramping up something awful.

It never put her off of water though. If there was a pond, puddle, or filthy ditch she was playing in it. You should try keeping a Yorkshire terriers long hair clean.

Nothing exciting happening here as usual. I'm off grocery shopping as soon as I've fished a load of towels out of the washing machine. Stop the press!

Sounds like one of mine Sandy. He never did cotton on to the fact that a snow covered pond or one covered in duckweed couldn't safely be walked on. He regularly made the mistake of thinking it was solid ground and then glared at me like it was my fault he was sodden.

Veleta loved dirt and digging but never did much by water. She did like when the ships would go by and make waves come to the shore. She would run up to the edge and stand in that but just her feet. If the water inched up a bit she would run out, lol.

Just sitting here in class watching Youtube, lol. Right now I am watching the "fake news" reporters be aghast at the current fiasco from the orange regime. Good Lord. I'm glad I am across an ocean!

Have a lovely Friday, y'all!

Both my Katie and Bayley were yorkies and they couldn't have been more opposite. Katie was the equivalent of a tom boy and Bayley was all delicate and girly. All 3 of my dogs have been bloody mental though, lol. I'd find it very hard to pick a favourite.

I'm having Toby here overnight and we had a lovely afternoon. There was a local twilight market where dogs on leads where allowed so I took him there and he loved it.
It's also Toby's birthday today Smile he turned 7 so I spoiled him a little lol.

Just watched a movie with Sandra Bullock in it; called Blindside.

Now the tv is still on and the Investigator tv show is on. A case about a missing woman from Bournemouth and the fact that her husband is doing life in jail, although the wife's body has never been found. They have 1 daughter who is now in her 40s. The husband has never admitted to murdering his wife.

Oh that woman that went missing, her name is Carol Packman. Perhaps Sandy and Wendy remember that case.

I can't say that I do, but then it was before my time living down here.

We also have a new show of the same type, but of the more recent murders that got a lot of television reporting at the time.

The sun it trying so hard to shine through a really thick, cold mist coming off of the sea at the moment. I reckon once the mist has gone it will be a decent day out there.

My Louie had his quick pee and dashed indoors again and straight back to bed. In my bed of course.

Doesn't ring a bell with me either but then my memory is stuffed and we have so many similar cases I confuse the ones I do remember.

All my dogs have been very different characters and I loved them all for different reasons. Now I just have one cat. I did have two but the old one died a couple of years ago. I don't even like cats but I somehow managed to acquire them.

I'm not that keen on cats either Wendy. I hate it the most that they seem to use other people's yards to go to the toilet and I've tried all sorts of things to stop them but so far nothing is working.

We've had another hot day here and by mid afternoon both Toby and I needed a nap LOL.

I adore cats. I am more of a cat person than I am a dog.

It's been a beautiful day here once the sea mist cleared and not cold at all. Louie actually enjoyed his walk today and wasn't dragging his feet as he does when it's cold.

I was able to stay out and walk a good distance today which means I am now fit enough to walk into town without collapsing and without needing to wee. Just as I hit the town there is a department store with a loo, lol.
