Nice day here , mild 18c, very fall like feeling

I ditched my color printer some time ago, now only use a laser printer , only black printing , fast and cheaper . I got tired of buying the small cartridges , always empty . Can't print out photo's of course , but really does not matter to me .  I can use the library printer if I really want a color photo printed I believe, must investigate this .

I see thousand are marching in protest  in London , to exit Brexit  , I thought the Queen had made this decision long ago     ,  what have I missed ?

I am off to get my hair cut this afternoon .

Funny thing is, that my printer was one of the cheapest on the market, yet it works like a dream. I've had so much use out of it.

You haven't missed anything Geru, those are just the bemoaners trying to get a second referendum on it hoping that a second vote will go the other way. They are fighting a losing battle as there wont be a second vote. It's a bit like those trying to get Trump out. These lefties think that if they cause enough trouble things will go their way.

It's not going to happen so why they just can't accept the democratic vote and help to make Britiain better instead of trying to make things worse I don't know. As far as I am concerned they are traitors trying to bring the country down for their own ends. If they had said and done the things they are doing and saying now during the last war they would have been done for sedition. They are fighting against the state and the monarchy.

My printer was cheap to Sandy; it's the ink cartridges that cost a fortune. I do love my printer/scanner/photo copier though. It is actually a lot cheaper to get my photo's printed in the shop. I do print out other stuff myself.

Catherine's graduation was tonight and it was a lovely evening and I'm sitting here unwinding and feeling oh so proud of my girl Smile

Nice sunny day here, few clouds showing here and there , 15c so far .

Very quiet here last night , went to bed at a decent time , slept 4 hrs , then just could not go back to sleep , did finally doze off for another 1 hr toward morning , think getting my hair cut made me upset .

Did not like the way the sides turned out , one side longer then the other so it looks to me . I will wash it today , and put a color rinse in it , and set it , and then see ,  If the results are no good , I will go back and have her fix the sides .  Paid a fortune for the cut

My printer was not expensive either ,it was bought it on Amazon , they had a sale , I  had to wait to get it , it was on back order ... they sold so many . It prints, copies, scans, and it's a fax machine .  Pushes out many  many many copies per minute , think it's for a home business . I do not use the fax part .

Yes, sounds like a familiar story Sandy , when is the exit supposed to actually happen ?

Graduation day ... oh wow , how exiting for your family Martha , did you ever find that special  outfit ?

Ps, received a quick e-mail from my son this morning , he is home , thank goodness  .!!

Off to get my coffee .

We had 2 years to completely exit after the date of Article 50 was triggered. That was triggered March 29th this year. So the very last date we have is 29th March 2019. We can leave earlier if all red tape/agreements are in place, but I doubt they will be. From 29th March 2019 we will once again be liberated from EU rule and become again a Sovereign Country/s instead of a European State.

I'm sure we then, like the Americans, will celebrate every year that date as our Independence Day.

From then on we will continue to live under the laws and rules that the EU put in place over this last 40 odd years until each one can be viewed/examined and then changed or removed to suit Britain as each one lands on a ministers desk or passed through parliament.

There is no doubt in my mind that, just like the Soviet Union, the European Union will soon come crashing down as more and more countries leave. I give it no more than 10 years.

Thanks Geru and yes it was exciting to see Catherine graduate. She studied hard while working full time at the same time so I am extremely proud of her and her achievements.

I ended up in hospital last night for a few hours as I broke out in a rash on my face so badly that I didn't know what to do. Rang Health Direct first to talk to a nurse; then rang a Locum GP service and they told me to ring an ambulance as my lips where all tingly and my throat felt like ants where crawling inside there.
Ambulance came quick and they took me to hospital, where I saw a doctor quick too. All stats where good and I had 100% oxygen so that was good. They didn't know what caused this reaction but gave me an injection to stop it getting worse. Those injections make you so sleepy and when they discharged me and after I got home I promptly fell asleep.

Feeling a bit better ... rash is still there but more faded so fingers crossed it improves more as the day goes on.
Now trying to get an appointment with my GP ... they are all booked out so lets see how long I have to wait to get in!

Sounds like some sort of allergy Martha , maybe something different you ate  or drank in the last day  or so ?
Shellfish can cause tingling and swelling , hope you will feel better fast'

Congratulations to Catherine , great accomplishment  while holding down a full time job , wow , no wonder you are proud .

Interesting write up Sandy about Brexit , all in good time I guess . In the mean time , the moaners will protest . I have been reading  almost half the country is against getting out , mostly the young ones I bet .

I will be off early for lab test's tomorrow .   Have a great evening ..

Thanks Geru Smile feeling heaps better this morning and I've done nothing but sleep!
Managed to get in to my GP yesterday and she's given me strong medication to take and it's working already. Hate to think what nasty chemical concoction I'm swallowing but oh well, need it right now and only have to take it for 5 days.
My GP said it's hard to tell sometimes what set of a reaction like this but it was nothing I ate or used as nothing new was added or changed.

Oh bugger sorry to hear Brad ... I heard on the news that there are a lot of people pissed of with the NBN and the poor connection and speed. Seems that this is more happening in country towns too.
The other thing that is happening around here is that their so called mechanics are useless! One of my neighbours was without a phone for 12 days because some idiot worked on the line and forgot to plug his connection back in.

Have hair appointment tomorrow , she will fix her mistake I hope .   At their prices , I don't feel one bit bad for taking up another 10 minutes or so ..

Glad your feeling better Martha, it sure sound strange what ever you got  . Take good care .

See you later folks .

Hi all......not been good here for the past couple of days.....on Thursday I tripped on the throw rug in the hallway and down I went....hit my head on the door frame and OMG you should've seen the blood! Was able to grab a towel and apply pressure and some ice but it took almost an hour for the bleeding to stop......called Dick and he immediately took me to the ER.......I did a good job.....I now have 7 staples and 7 stiches in my scalp! Have a few scraps on my right wrist and elbow....and one on my left elbow and left knee. I am sore from head to toe but I'm surprised that I only have one small black & blue mark and that is on my face near my right eye. Needless to say I haven't been doing anything.......they tell me I can have the staples & stiches out this week.....seems pretty quick to me. It's a good thing I didn't pass out.....I probably would've bleed to death! Poor Simon didn't know what to make of the situation and when Dick arrived he ran to the door meowing up a storm!

I am going back to lie down......I will try to check in but it depends on how I feel.

LESSON: beware of throw rugs!

WoW you all make me feel so healthy and graceful! lol
Joke aside, I am very glad you have survived your ordeals. Ruby & Martha, either would have sent me into a panic!
I get short-lived allergies to foods I binge on. For the past 3 months I've always had a dish of pumpkin seeds on my desk and sometimes refill it to snack on while watching movies at night. That was a lot of pumpkin seeds and I ended up getting a throat problem from it. I switched to raw sunflowers seeds and it went away. I've had allergies to grapefruits when I used to drink a litre every day and also had an allergy to tomatoes after a long love affair with tomato sandwiches. I have no probs with tomatoes or grapefruit anymore but I try to be mindful of how often I eat them.
I sure hope your rash is as simple as that Martha♥

Good afternoon,

Is Catherine a daughter, granddaughter?   What degree did she graduate with? And of course congratulations to her! All degrees are hard work.  I watched my daughter graduate nursing school, then she completed her bachelors, then she completed her Masters.  The last graduation she actually did not participate, she participated in the Nurses pledging ceremony.

I am sooooooo sorry, I am behind.   It's been sooooo busy here. Monday I was in a lot of pain. And I usually can take it but I guess I was also over tired, which explained the pain, and I was just cranky. So I told hubby, lets go out to lunch, do a little shopping.  On our way our daughter called told us her Father-in-law suddenly died.  He was taking a bath her MIL went to check him and he was gone. She tan to the neighbors and they called 911 of course.  They had to wait for the EMt's to come, the police and the coroner. So what does one do while waiting for all that to happen. And 2 sons are 3 hours away, the other 2 are states away.  Why you clean the toilet and the vacuum. I am not condemning her, Well why not, after all..my daughter's MIL is a Japanese lady who is just adorable. She is a hard worker, and the best cook.  Bless her heart.  She doesn't know how to drive at all. She worked 40 years in a factory, raised 5 sons, one died at 16 on his motorcycle.   She is quite incredible actually.  Grows a huge garden, cans EVERYTHING.  WEll anyway, my son-in-law went there right away. So we were picking up the girls every night since our daughter doesn't get home until after 6 and latch Key closes at 6.   Each girl had girl scouts each night, my daughter is the leader of one group. We made supper for everyone.

Then we went to the funeral Saturday 3 hours away.  Came home and my son was having a party of people he hung out with in high school and has remained friends. They invite all the parents too. Tell stories that some of us parents would rather not know..LOL      I went inside and put the baby to bed, so my son and his wife could stay outside.  I got her to sleep and we came home, I was exhausted.

Today I am more.....exhausted.  I am home playing catch up on the computer.

I tried to read and catch up.

We also have my daughters 2 dogs. My husband does most of the stuff with them. I cannot run after them if they get away They have a wireless fence at home, but we don't here.

Rest is the name of the game today!!

I hope you all have a great Sunday.

Oh no Rby .. what a frightful thing to happen! So glad you are ok and did not loose consciousness and could make that phone call. Ouch and ouch having staples in your head. Rest a lot indeed as there is not much else you can do and sitting at the computer won't do much good either.
Heal well and I see you when I see you here. I love you

I did have allergy tests done last year and whatever they tested was fine so it's not food related or the usual things.

Tara my daughter graduated in Bachelors of Law and has to work alongside a judge for a year and will then be registered on the bar as a full registered Lawyer.
She managed to get the job working alongside the Supreme Court Judge next year.

Elaine I seem to get allergic reactions to medication that I have taken for many years.
Some of those reactions have been with meds such as Keflex (cephalexin) which is a normal med prescribed here for UTI's and more.

I have had a lovely Saturday celebrating the graduation with a family lunch Smile and yesterday was a super lazy day for me.

A new week and I'm ready to roar again lol.

Cloudy , and it's raining , believe it or not ,  mild 13c  ,fall is here , that should help to put out some fires we all hope in BC .

Nothing much new here otherwise, went to the club , not much doing there either .

Rby:  Oh wow , sorry to hear of your accident ,   yes  you were lucky not to pass out  , but of course that does not help the pain matter  . I do hope you will heal quick  , they are sure fast with taking the stitches out now days.  Throw rugs...... yes, I broke 4 ribs  tripping over one of those .

Tara.  Sorry to hear the bad news about another death in the family ... life hands us some real  sad situation at times . Your son's MIL , sounds like a real trooper , and knows her own way to cope with all the grief I guess ,  work will help her to cope with the  stress  !!
Hope you will feel better fast too.  and have a good rest now after all that sadness .

Martha:  Wow , your daughter is now a Judge ?  OMG,  congrats to her again !!

Elaine :    Yes, our weather is very much the same ..... Very Happy  ,  I have allergies too, got tested for 48  things , allergic to 28 of them ,,,, but only foods are  dairy products , but eat Cottage cheese all the time ... lol .

Sandy: hope you are feeling OK, and  all is well with you .

Sun is out , and roads are drying from the over night rain , things look refreshed .
We have our parking lot getting re-paved , a long process consisting of several days , noisy and most likely will turn smelly later on .

Had a nice long phone call from my son last evening , catching up on all the events of his summer .  always feel so much better after a good  talk with him .

Got to make it in to the village today run errands and do laundry etc .

Glad you are feeling a bit better Rby , take it slow now , no bouncing around with Simon either... hug1

Geru no my daughter will be a registered Lawyer after she finishes working for the judge next year.
It is law here that they do that work before they get registered on the Bar as a qualified lawyer.

Good to hear you are feeling a bit better Rby Smile and lol regarding the law mowing.

Organising a house with kids is a job in itself isn't it Brad! So glad I'm past all that now!
Now organising my own mess .... that's a different story hahahaha.

Tara hope you have the time to get a good rest.

Hiya Elaine and it's already Tuesday here lol.

Catching up with a few boards/posts before getting ready to go and get my results from the tests and blood tests this morning. Other then that I have nothing on the agenda so depending on the weather I might even do some gardening if the rain holds of.

Heck Rby, the result of your wrestle with the rug sounds awful. Pleased to hear you are feeling a lot better now. Rugs are all very nice but sometimes I think they just aren't worth having. With me, I have to be careful not to trip over the dogs toys which he leaves all over the place.

Once upon a time Mozzie I had a four bedroom house and still didn't have room for everything. Although in those days I actually used to enjoy organising and reorganising. Now I just keep everything to a minimum.

So sad about your Son's MiL Tara. My thoughts to all.

I'm good thanks Geru.

That must have been really scary Martha.

Hi Elaine.

Very chilly here today. I'm going to soon have to break out my warm leggings and other winter type clothing.

It was scary Sandy and I knew the feeling of what was happening pretty quick. Still have a little uneasiness from it but that takes a bit to completely disappear.

Blood test where not back yet and seeing as it was a specific genetics test it will take longer. No rush for me though; this test is merely to give my kids a familial picture.

Ultrasound from Thyroid showed 4 nodules but nothing to worry about at this stage so we just keep monitoring it.

We've had a lovely sunny day after all today and I got all the weeding done in my gardens Smile
Rain forecast for the next 6-7 days so that was well planned LOL.

Back home but still busy catching up with all the boring stuff. Had a lovely time despite awful flights both ways. Missing the sun already. It's chilly and wet here. San Francisco was fun. Rode the trolleys everywhere and made one crossing on the ferry and another trip there by car. Spent a couple of days at Lake Tahoe and another three at Monterey Bay plus lots of local stuff.

Read back on a lot of posts but will catch up on more once I clear the backlog of stuff to do.
