Oh wow that will be a temperature shock for you Wendy!

I need to do even more medical paperwork ... argh it's never ending! Another genetic test needs to be done too and I need to get a copy of my family's results etc. No time to get bored that's for sure.

I watched a movie tonight and just relaxed.

Good evening!
I got up early this morning and finished make croissants for the first time ever. What an ordeal that is! One I won't be putting myself through again any time soon. I just finished making dinner and am going to lay in bed and watch TV until I fall asleep. That should take all of 10 minutes, lol. I'm pooped!

Hi all.....been a busy day.....first had to go to the landfill to drop off yard debris......some large branches that Dick cut down.....then it was back home to mow both lawns then up to the shop because we had two trailer customers and paperwork had to be filled out plus we had people in for motorcycle inspections. Glad to be home!

Nothing special planned for tonight.......just relax! Well, until Simon decides it's time to play! LOL

Am off to rustle up some dinner for us....enjoy your evening.

Raining here again today, so I'm not going to do anything except stay in in the dry.

I need to find a new box set to download as I have finished watching the whole of Stargate Atlantis again.

Still waiting for Blacklist series 4 to reach the box sets. It's a bit like waiting for an author to finish writing the last of a trilogy.

I still haven't got around to baking some bread.

Hello

Does anyone else have to "sign in" each time?  It lets me see this whole area but there is no way I can post until I actually sign in.  I have the "Keep me signed in" square marked.

In a group I have been in for more than 15 yrs now, one of the ladies lost her home.  She lived in Rockport the hardest hit area.  Her home is standing but its covered in debris and had water inside.  She said the mold smell is so awful.  I am not sure where she is staying. She is married and has a couple of kids still home.  She had no insurance.  She said she was buying the home contract for deed and the insurance would have been $1000 a month, she was already making payments of $1000 a month. I'm not sure that is all true. But her home is gone, she posted pics.  We have caught her lying to us before but I don't believe she is this time.     I saw an interview with another couple who stayed in their home, he didn't want to leave the cows etc.  Makes no sense to me, was he going to catch them flying through the air??  But anyway, he siad he was very very wrong, they should of never stayed and are very lucky to be alive.  Their home is destroyed but they had a small one bedroom home next door they rented out to travelers etc.  It was not hurt at all.  They are letting neighbors come in and take showers each day. But they have 6 people living in this tiny home.  It is all soo sad.

We went to a wedding Friday night. It was the tour director that asked for Ken to be her driver for a lot of her trips and she invites me along. It was her 2nd marriage and it was a small wedding but very nice.  Her first husband passed away about 6 months after they divorced. They were separated for several years, but she said it was a good thing she had gotten the divorce or is could of cost her a lot more, he had made debts after he left her. He also cashed in a $100,000 ins policy just a week before he died, which he said he would leave her as beneficiary, he got $30,000 but there was no trace of it anywhere. They don't know what he did with it. Anyway...I didn't mean to dwell on that. She looked beautiful and soooo happy.  The man seems very nice.  Her parents were jewelers and her mom passed a couple of years ago.  Her dad is about 97 and he walked her down the aisle with his walker. She held on to him, and her son was on the other side of her.  Too cute. But she had on her moms diamond necklace and earrings. Wow!   She wears her mom wedding ring too, and wow, I have never seen such a huge diamond.   But she was sooo happy, we were all happy for her.   They had a nice dinner afterwards.      When I was on the bus to New York a few years ago this couple asked me to walk around with them.  Ken couldn't get off the bus, no where to park in in downtown NY and I thought I was going to have to miss it all and stay on the bus. I wasn't about to walk around NY by myself.   I was so grateful for them. So they were on another bus trip I took to Michigan 2 yrs ago.  Anyway we stay in contact.  The MR is pretty ill. Getting chemo treatments then in Dec they are going to remove his prostrate, and a few other things I cannot remember.  He keeps going I think for her.   We were only 1 1/2 hours from home but she wanted to stay and make a little weekend out of it, so we did.  We stayed at a hotel there. And so did 20 motorcycle people. They came roaring in about 10PM and I thought it was thundering.   We heard the office had a few complaints.   I mean really there is no need to rev them up like that and have their radios on blasting either. It was a motorcycle club, and usually they are friendly but these were not so much.  They wouldn't even move off the sidewalks we walked by.  geezzzz  What ever happened to common decency?    Well anyway, we had a nice breakfast with our friends and they headed home, and we headed to shopping. LOL   WE then hd a nice dinner and stopped by our daughters home on our way home. Our son came out and so we got to see them for a few min too.

Today I have unpacking to do and clean up the extra bedroom.  I always seem to leave a mess when I leave and have to clean it all up when I get back!

Weather has been high 70's really nice.

20 yrs since Princess Diana passed?  Wow....where does the time go?   She would of been loving on those little babies... too sad..

Hot and humid here , and climbing , got all fans blowing of course ,  just too much for me , wearing as little as possible in the house , and not going out until later  in the early evening .

Worrying about the fire situation , #1 Trans Canada is closed in certain places ,bringing with it worries about getting home for my son . Think there are two other ways to make the trip back, if they are open . These two other ways are more scenic , but  dangerous  to drive in spots  .

Don't feel like chatting to much , am very angry  and upset . Did you hear that the younger generation is talking about giving all churches a new name , ??  Mad   " Hospitals for sinners "

Think about it ... not a bad Idea ....  I know two patients that live around here , that need to go there for treatments   as soon as possible !! .

All though, one of these people is showing signs of improvements  , but don't think it will last

it goes up and down like a Basketball .. I always end up getting the dirty end of the stick

ps, have read all the posts , but just not up to replying ,.

getting out of here for now .

Morning all! Happy Labor Day! We're finally going to have a nice weather day......it's been cold and yesterday it rained most of the day......temps at night have been in the 40s! Little early for temps to be that low. In the northern part of the state they had a frost warning! In September???? Too early for that too. Just puttered around yesterday. Today we're cooking out and Dick's mom will join us. Simon will love it as we're having shrimp cocktail and he loves his shrimp! LOL Dick always cuts him up a couple of shrimp!

Heard on the news that our State Fair has had 1 million plus people attend so far this year!

Am off for more coffee.....enjoy your day.

Tara having to sign in every time could possibly your browser settings. If it's not that then perhaps it's Forumotion working on something; hard to say really. I know I have to sign in when I clear the cache.

I feel for all the people in Texas; what a horrendous thing to go through and I can only imagine the devastation some families face if there's no insurance to fall back on.

Hi Linette, we are slowly getting warmer weather here as Spring season has started.

Wow Geru are those fires still burning? Hope your son makes it home safe!

I saw on the news that California is battling massive fires too.

Hello everyone. I wanted to get in here to post, but have had migraines lately. Probably change in weather.

Just finished the affiliates at the bottom of my board, which I mainly stole from Martha, since we have many of the same members. Thank you Martha, hope that was okay? Laughing

I'll be back later after I lie down for a while; maybe this evening.

Another blasted hot day, this heat wave is getting worse ...humidity was 88 % last evening . The fans did not do the job, grrrrrr. When it goes to 30c -33c  here , that is extreme for us ,  . Ambulances  howling lots , heat strokes I bet .

Not cooking much in this heat , just maybe some vegt .  Not heading out either, waiting till later this evening . I got to keep remembering now , that this chat page goes to Twitter

Watched Netflix movie called * You're not You *  under genres  , good movie , good acting  , and sad , makes you feel glad you can breath .

Tara:  Yes, I have to sign in every time I want to post , it's our browser  making us aware .    All can come and read everything , but you need to be a member and sign in to post .  This is not an  HTTPS secure site , so that is why .  I even installed the HTTPS add on , and it did not help,  forumotion.com    does not support it  , think they want us to pay ... lol .
Yes things are bad in Texas , might be getting worse from what I am reading . But Fire is raging in California and BC like mad , life is scary right now . .

Ok, enough chit chat .

Geru I think you are confused about the twitter button you see. Nothing from this board gets automatically posted to twitter. I put those buttons in for those who do want to share a link to a post to twitter but that has to be done manually.

Yes all can come and read the general forum that's correct. Other forums can only be read when signed in as a member.

My suggestion is that if you want to post in private then perhaps start your own board and make it a private one Geru.
I learned long ago that private boards just don't work and I don't like having private forums either as that is where all the posts would go and no one would post in general.
People would come to a board and see that x amount of posts have been made ... yet they don't see any ... which causes a lot of frustration.

The only private forum I always have is the one for admin and mods to talk about the board's layout; codes; rules etc.

Elaine I think you posted in another forum/thread yesterday.

I have spend all day on legal paperwork. Reading up on it and trying to find the right answers online on Government pages to then finding the right forms etc etc. I've gone cross eyed ... lol.

Foggy day here , sun is hidden , but still hot and humid .

Martha:  I guess my info to Tara might sound confusing , but ... I was not talking about posting private .   Tara asked about the having to sign in  all the time , so I explained  why .... I do understand if forumotion.com  was to except that HTTPS thing ... that this was not going to make this a private board ,  and don't expect it  , not even wanting to start my own.

And  about the twitter situation :    I was on Sandra's forum , and clicked on her twitter button, and landed on your Chat page starting at page 38 .. posted by her as an  interesting link I guess .  I was surprised , did not know this is done ... that is all .   She can do this  of course ,but that does not mean I have to like it .. Very Happy Every day I check, and what I post here , can be found there . Nothing wrong with that , it's just more public there , that is all .  Sorry if I upset you , did not mean to , I am just learning about  things , and  not a Forum establishing person .

Ps, for our info : what exactly does this HTTPS do ? am I right in thinking it  helps with stopping  hackers from invading ?

Geru it's all good Smile I believe in freedom of speech but I think you are getting confused between the safety of browsing the internet and private boards.
The HTTPS stands for a better encrypted way for the browsers which indeed means it will be harder for hackers. It has however nothing to do with a board being private or not; that is up to a board owner you see.

As for the twitter button ... this just means it's easier for members to post a link to a post on twitter. Anyone can post a link elsewhere by the way, without that twitter button. For example .. I could grab the link to this page and post it on facebook if I wanted or if you wanted.

The difference is that posts can often not be read unless one is a member or if a forum is set to MBA/private. It's important not to post very personal details on any board or blog etc but posting general things such as me going into the city for example is not doing any harm.

Hiya Dazzal Smile that sounds like perfect weather and nice temps too!

Confucius say .... Very Happy  , no , not getting confused , I was not confused to begin with ,  my write ups say what you are saying Martha, only put down  a bit differently ' Very Happy

My write up does explain about twitter ,  and did not say it post's on there automatically , it says it can be read on twitter  .  And I explained how , by explaining about Sandy;s board , and how one can read what I write every day, lol, the whole thing is  getting funny Martha.  Very Happy Conversing by internet is sure not like talking in person, one can't get the point across all the time   about situations etc ,    Ok, I will stop here, do not intend on causing drama here. Very Happy
I think you are a swell person , and your forum is great , love it,

End of soap opera .... lol     weather is terible, smoke fills the sky here, sun hidden , but it's cooling a bit .
