Vision Board

Following your passion is quiet an adventure and most people find that although the intentions are great, it's the being able to keep doing it that runs thin after a while. I have found what works for me and that is to make a VISION BOARD. 

I used to use a cork board and on that I'd pin photo's, pictures and notes of all the things I wanted to focus on. Now with the internet I use a private page and write items or things or add images of the things I am focusing on.

The idea of this is to help you focus on what it is you would like to achieve or acquire this year.
Surround yourself with sensory input such as the pictures and by looking at this board every day it helps you to stay inspired.

Add to the board as you go and ones you've achieved something or acquired something, take that picture of and there will be room again for something else.

Now the biggest mistake most of us make is that we automatically start thinking of how are we going  to pay for those things. That is a big no no. 
The idea of this board is that you focus on the items/things and NOT on the monetary value of it!

TRUST that it will come to you without asking how! It's all in the intent/focus and I can honestly say that in the last few years everything I've had on my board has come to fruition.
The moment I let go of "how do I pay for this" was the moment it all fell into place!

To give you an example of what one of my vision boards looks like

I like working with images as I find a visual of what I want, need or am lacking in so much easier to focus on.

In my example I have put in photo's of myself of times I so enjoyed doing, but don't do enough of, so those 2 photo's with me in it remind me that I want to do that more often.

Of course if you don't have photo's like that you could use a pic from a movie with a few words written beside or below it etc.

The photo of the road is one I took when I did a trip across this country and I loved loved loved it so that pic reminds me that I would like to hit the road again, but my car is too old and not reliable anymore to do so.

I love getting massages and healing sessions, so that is what the Essential Oils and the Chakra means to me.

Sharing some of the words I created to use on my VB but I have left them a big size so that anyone can then resize them to what they want it to be

Take and use what you want and leave the ones you don't like.







    

I would like to try this idea but I can't think of anything I'd like to manifest. At least nothing that can be described with pictures and only barely with words. I'll keep thinking on it though

Aww Elaine it really is simple ones you start with this and I think we are our own worst obstacle when it comes to manifesting etc.

What I will do ones I have this all sorted here is post examples of how I set mine up in the beginning and how mine looks now

Only two nights ago Elaine I set up a private page for a vision board as I was chatting to Martha on Skype.

I said to her before I started it, that the trouble was I didn't want anything material, as my needs were more emotional.

But, as I was chatting to her I set it up.  You would be surprised how things suddenly come to you after you post the first image.

For instance:  I get lonely when living alone as my girls are all working and living their own lives so I only see them on their short pop ins to me.  So I thought what I need are friends, never having any real friends since leaving school really.  So I put this image on my VBoard with the caption below it.


Good friends so that I no longer have to rely on my girls for companionship.

So that photo represnts my loneliness.

I've been so ill for the last year and I just want it all to be over, be healthy, happy and have a decent life again so I put this as a banner.



I've posted that image smaller but if you want to pinch it just right click and save and you will get it at it's full size.

If you want a suggestion as to where to set up a private page Weebly.com is a terrific place to set one up on the web as you can drag and drop all sorts of boxes onto it that make it easy to add images and text.  You can click to hide the page and also click to stop google picking it up.

Looking at my VBoard has given me a real zest for life again because I know that what I have put on there will happen.  I don't know how but I know it will.

You know it all truly comes down to breaking down those barriers we have been putting up unconsciously all our life's! Ones you start with this vision board you feel amazing and re-energised just by the thought or pictures of whatever you put on that board!

My weebly page was done to tell people about the idea of a Vision Board and I will take some screenshots later when I have the time to show you just how one can put it all together in different ways.

There are so many ways too Elaine and for example, you could create 2 pages or VB's ...
1 - personal that you want to keep to yourself and
2 - one that you want to share with others.

Now the trick will be with no2 that you will have to ask your friends that you share that page or board with, to not ask you about money or how you think you are going to achieve those things.
The idea of sharing it with others is more in the spirit of having your friends visualising YOU achieving those things.

Sandy you are so right with what you said there and it was delightful to watch you create your Vision Board and as we where chatting it just flew out of your hands and onto that board and I loved watching the progress as it went fast!

I was just going to ask the same question Elaine.

I also like the idea of a 2nd one to share.  I keep looking at mine and thinking, shall I share it or are some of the things too personal.  But then I think that if I sare it it might give others the incentive to get one going.

I have also added to mine a section of things I need to start doing again.  My illness lead to depression and the first thing that goes with depression is lack of mental energy which then leads to lack of physical energy and zest for actually living goes out of the window.

It becomes easier to sit and look at a computer and/or television screen than get off one's backside and do something.  Those somethings would actually lessen and finally remove the depression.

Seeing them on my VB page has given me the urgency to start doing things again.

Thank you for sharing Sandy! Your Vision Board is very nic. I'm still trying to create mine. So far I've added some photos of the area I would like to live in. Once I've sorted it into categories and add more items I will share the link with you!

Once one's dreams have come true one is meant to take them off and replace them with new. But some of my things I have added I think I will have to keep on to keep giving me the incentive to continue with them. It's so easy to slip back into old ways.

I was given a gift today, by my neighbour Wendy. It is something I've wanted to have for a very long time. A KitchenAid Professional Mixer. I didn't even get a chance to add it to my board! lol

Woohoo how about that Elaine!! I am wrapt for you and you just keep putting it out there in which ever way ... just remember when you do ... don't worry about how you are going to get it or achieve it ... and this is the hardest part as we all like to be in control of the how too!

I have filled in the empty spots below the first post with a few examples and ideas.

Elaine and Sandy I use PhotoFiltre as my program, which is my favourite program to use for all my graphic design etc.
If you are used to Photoshop or Paintshop Pro you will be able to work with this one easily.

When you save the image of the board created, it will save to the size of your screen so you could even use it as a screen saver I guess.

Thank you Sandy & Martha ♥ I think the universe realizes that I prefer used stuff, as I don't like wastefulness. When my roommate insisted we look at KitchenAids at a store, I really wasn't all that interested. The prices were ridiculous and even if he was thinking he'd pay for it, I still wanted to check the thrift stores first, lol
Martha, do you just create a file of images? Like a normal picture file? I'm rolling it around in my head that I could use a word processor program & maybe I could use it like a journal, adding images as warranted. I don't know yet. Maybe I should instead (or as well) use my ever beckoning empty sketch pads and rarely used pens & pencils. That would probably be more comfortable and inspiring for me, once I get into it. Then I could put my sketches on weebly. It's a thought.

Oh with these templates you can only upload JPEG image files. But ones you do or use what they have there, you can move it around on the template so you are not really stuck with just the blank boxes that show on those nice backgrounds.

When you click on the stickers it gives you a few and when you click on one it opens it up and you can add your own text to it. Then click OK at the bottom right and it will show in the template. You can then move that text sticker around to where you want it.
