Medical ID App for mobile phones

The App I am referring to is called Health App and within that app is a section called Medical ID. This app can be found in the Apple iPhone store and also in Google Play, Android store.

Set up your Medical ID in the Health app on your iPhone:
This app is already on your iPhone if your phone is up to date. Otherwise look for it in the Apple iPhone store.

Medical ID helps first responders access your critical medical information from the Lock screen, without needing your passcode.

Your Medical ID provides medical information about you that may be important in an emergency, like allergies and medical conditions as well as who to contact in case of an emergency.

Set up your Medical ID

Create your Medical ID:

1. Open Health and tap Medical ID > Edit.
   
2. Enter your emergency contacts and health information like your birth date, height, and blood type.
   
3. Turn on Show When Locked to make your Medical ID available from the Lock screen. In an emergency, this gives people who want to help some important information, like the emergency contacts that you've entered.
   
4. When you're finished, tap Done.

Make an emergency call and access Medical ID

If an iPhone has a Medical ID, you can view emergency medical information on the device or make an emergency call.
To view the Medical ID, open the Health app and tap Medical ID.

If the iPhone is locked, follow these steps:

1. Press the Home button.
   
2. Tap Emergency.
   
3. On the Emergency call screen, you can make a call or tap Medical ID to see emergency medical information stored on the device.

Save

For the Android Phones go to Google's Play Store and look for the app called:
Medical ID (Free) ICE contacts.


Medical ID allows you to create medical profiles that are accessible from the lock screen.

In case of emergency, this profile enables quick access to vital information such as your allergies, blood type, medical contacts, etc. that are essential to attending first responders, medics or medical staff having to take action.

This is the free version of the app.

That's a good idea. Does me no good as I don't have a cell phone, but if I were allergic to anything or had health problems I would get one of those medic alert bracelets.

Oh I agree with you Brad but seeing as most younger ones only seem to carry a phone these days it would just be an extra way to have some crucial info at hand in case of an emergency.

Spice I know about the medic alert bracelet and can get that here too and it sure is another great "gadget" to recommend that's for sure.
